AC losses
Losses between the inverter output and the grid connection
What it is
The AC losses section carries the losses between the inverter and the point where the system connects to the grid: AC cables, the medium-voltage transformer, the medium-voltage line, an optional high-voltage transformer, the high-voltage line, flat transmission and other losses, the auxiliary consumption, the grid export limit and the unavailability. It also carries the power factor, the conventions the fractions refer to, and the switches that leave a component out of the calculation.
Typical values and how to get it
Enter the fractions against the power chosen as the AC power reference (the inverter AC nameplate by default). For a three-phase cable at unity power factor the fraction is the resistance of one conductor in Ω times the reference power in W, divided by the square of the line-to-line voltage in V; the model divides the loss by the square of the power factor itself. Each component after the AC wiring is modelled or left out on the Model tab; a component left out keeps its values here.
