API field

AC circuit: loss fraction at STC

Resistive loss of the AC cables at full power

Unit % of the reference power

What it is

The resistive loss of the AC cables from the inverter to the transformer when the inverter runs at its reference power, as a fraction.

Typical values and how to get it

From the cable length, cross-section and voltage. Values of 0.5 % to 1 % are common. If not given: 0: no AC wiring loss.

How it is applied

Ploss(t)=fAC PrefPF2(P(t)Pref)2P_{\text{loss}}(t) = \frac{f_{AC}\,P_{ref}}{\text{PF}^2}\left(\frac{P(t)}{P_{ref}}\right)^2

where

Symbol Meaning Unit
Ploss(t)P_{\text{loss}}(t) the loss of the timestep W
fACf_{AC} this input as a fraction —
PrefP_{ref} the AC reference power of one inverter (Model tab: AC power reference) W
PF\text{PF} the power factor —
P(t)P(t) the inverter output of the timestep W
