Backtracking
Whether a single-axis tracker backs off to avoid shading the next row
What it is
Whether a single-axis tracker reduces its rotation in the morning and evening so that the shadow of one row does not fall on the next row. With backtracking on, the rows cast no beam shadow on each other on even ground; the sky and ground light the rows hide is still lost.
Typical values and how to get it
On by default, as on every modern tracker system. Off only to study a tracker that follows the sun regardless, which then shades like fixed rows.
