Backtracking width

Which width the backtracking angle is computed from

What it is

Selects the width the tracker controller uses when it computes the backtracking angle.

Typical values and how to get it

Chosen on the Model tab.

Values

Active band width = active_band (default): the collector width plus the inactive band on the upper edge of the row, the edge away from the sun, plus 0.01 m; the shadow may cover the band on the lower edge of the next row without loss, so that band is left out. The trackers of a scene shaded by the shading-factor table or direct projection carry no band: the collector width plus 0.01 m · GCR = gcr: the collector width, so the controller works with the ground cover ratio as given · Custom = custom: the custom backtracking width
