API field

Row-to-row shading geometry

Which geometry computes the shadow of one row on the next

What it is

Selects the geometry used for the shadow one row casts on the next.

Typical values and how to get it

Chosen on the Model tab.

Values

Infinite rows, PVsyst application = unlimited_sheds (default): the shadow from the profile angle on rows of unlimited length, with the inactive edge bands; a backtracking tracker receives no direct shade · Appelbaum geometric closed form = geometric: the closed form of Appelbaum and Bany on the bare collector width · Shading-factor table, PVsyst application = pvsyst_table: the direct-light factor read from a table indexed by sun position, built by projecting the scene's mounting tables and objects; available only with a scene · Deline linear self-shading = deline: the linear form of the self-shading model of Deline and co-workers on rows of unlimited length: the shaded fraction with its own sky and ground derates, without the electrical term; not available with a scene · Deline non-linear self-shading = deline_nonlinear: the full, non-linear form: the sky and ground derates of the linear form, the beam kept, and Deline's DC derate from the shaded substrings on the electrical shading row; not available with a scene · Direct projection = direct: the mounting table in front and the scene's objects projected onto each mounting table at every timestep; available only with a scene
