Plane tilt

Tilt of the plane, the faces or the tracker axis

Unit °

What it is

The tilt from the horizontal toward the azimuth, from 0° to 90°. For a fixed or rooftop array it is the tilt of the module plane. For an east-west array it is the tilt of each face. For a tracker it is the tilt of the axis, with the axis descending toward the azimuth.

Typical values and how to get it

Fixed arrays are often tilted 10° to 15° less than the latitude; rows trade tilt against row-to-row shading. Trackers usually have a horizontal axis, tilt 0. If not given: 20°.
