API field

Mismatch loss factor (rear side)

Mismatch loss on the rear-side power

Unit %

What it is

The mismatch loss applied to the rear-side share of the array power. The rear side of a row is lit unevenly, so its contribution carries more mismatch than the front.

Typical values and how to get it

A common design range is 5 to 10 %; the default is 10 %.

How it is applied

Ploss(t)=frm GbackGfront+Gback Parr(t)P_{\text{loss}}(t) = f_{\text{rm}}\,\frac{G_{\text{back}}}{G_{\text{front}} + G_{\text{back}}}\,P_{arr}(t)

where

Symbol Meaning Unit
Ploss(t)P_{\text{loss}}(t) the rear mismatch loss of the timestep W
frmf_{\text{rm}} this input as a fraction —
GbackG_{\text{back}} the rear irradiance times the bifaciality factor W/m²
GfrontG_{\text{front}} the front effective irradiance W/m²
Parr(t)P_{arr}(t) the array DC power after the quality, light-induced degradation, light-soaking and mismatch derates W
