Light soaking gain (CIS/CIGS)

Flat gain of CIS and CIGS modules after sun exposure

Unit %

What it is

A flat gain on the array power for copper indium (gallium) selenide modules, whose output rises during the first hundreds of hours of sun exposure. The simulated year describes the system after the gain has settled. The gain applies to CIS and CIGS modules only; every other technology ignores it.

Typical values and how to get it

Manufacturers of CIGS modules that quote a gain give 3 to 5 %. If not given: 0: no light-soaking gain.

How it is applied

Pafter=Pbefore (1+fsoak)P_{\text{after}} = P_{\text{before}}\,(1 + f_{\text{soak}})
