Loss row

AC other loss

Flat AC loss for effects no other row models

Unit kWh/kWp

What this step does

The row removes a flat share of the exported power, on every timestep with export, for AC losses that no other row models. It acts on the grid energy after the fixed transmission loss.

The math

  1. Running total
  2. Loss at a timestep
Eafter=Ebefore−Erow,Erow=Δt1000 PDC∑iLi(1)E_{after} = E_{before} - E_{row},\qquad E_{row} = \frac{\Delta t}{1000\,P_{DC}}\sum_i L_i \tag{1} Li=fO Pin,i(export, Pin,i>0)(2)L_i = f_O\,P_{in,i} \quad (\text{export},\ P_{in,i} > 0) \tag{2}

where

Symbol Meaning Unit
EbeforeE_{before} the running total of the loss diagram before this row kWh/kWp
EafterE_{after} the running total after this row kWh/kWp
ErowE_{row} the row taken as a loss kWh/kWp
Δt\Delta t the length of one timestep hours
PDCP_{DC} the DC nameplate of the system kWp
LiL_i the power lost at timestep ii over the whole system W
fOf_O the other AC loss fraction —
Pin,iP_{in,i} the power of the whole system after the fixed transmission loss at timestep ii W

Reading the number

A loss, negative. It is zero on utility and rooftop systems unless a fraction is entered; with a fraction entered, the row is about that fraction of the grid energy.
