Loss row

Available Energy at Inverter Output

The AC energy leaving the inverters

Unit kWh/kWp

What this step does

The AC energy at the inverter output after every inverter loss and the night consumption, summed over the inverters.

The math

Einv=Empp+∑kΔEk(1)E_{inv} = E_{mpp} + \sum_k \Delta E_k \tag{1}

where

Symbol Meaning Unit
EinvE_{inv} the energy at the inverter output kWh/kWp
EmppE_{mpp} the array energy at maximum power kWh/kWp
ΔEk\Delta E_k the inverter rows between the two, losses negative kWh/kWp

Reading the number

A total, positive: usually 94 to 98 % of the array energy at maximum power, on utility and rooftop systems alike. A high DC-to-AC ratio and string voltages outside the inverter's MPPT window lower it.
