API field
Isc temperature coefficient
Change of the short-circuit current per degree
Unit mA/°C
What it is
How much the short-circuit current changes per degree of cell temperature. The field is in milliamperes per degree; the API takes amperes per degree. Datasheets give it in percent per degree or in milliamperes per degree.
Typical values and how to get it
Datasheets show 0.04 to 0.05 % per degree for crystalline silicon, which is about 7 to 9 mA/°C on an 18 A module. If not given: the module runs on the PVWatts DC model, which does not read it. The one-diode models need it: a request that names one of them without it is refused.
