Bifaciality factor

Rear efficiency divided by front efficiency; 0 = monofacial

Unit –

What it is

The rear-side efficiency of the module divided by its front-side efficiency. A monofacial module has 0. When a bifacial section is present, this factor scales the light the rear side converts.

Typical values and how to get it

The datasheet value: about 0.70 for PERC, about 0.80 for TOPCon and about 0.85 for heterojunction modules. Library entries flag bifacial modules but carry no factor; enter it from the datasheet. If not given: 0: a monofacial module; the rear side is not modelled.
