API field
Module model
The model that computes the module's power
What it is
Selects the model that computes the module's power from the irradiance and the cell temperature: a one-diode circuit, or the PVWatts DC model, which needs the nameplate power only. A module sent without its electrical fields and without a model runs the PVWatts DC model.
Typical values and how to get it
Chosen on the Model tab.
Values
Mermoud one-diode = mermoud (default): the one-diode circuit of Mermoud and Lejeune, fitted to this module's datasheet values, with a shunt resistance that rises at low irradiance · CEC six-parameter, representative module = desoto: the California Energy Commission six-parameter circuit, the five parameters of De Soto, Klein and Beckman plus Dobos's adjustment of the short-circuit temperature coefficient, for a published module of the same class (crystalline silicon or thin film) instead of this module, its power scaled to this module's nameplate and its curve placed at this module's MPP voltage; no power below 1 W/m² · CEC six-parameter, this module = cec: the same circuit with this module's own CEC database parameters (module.cec), unscaled; no power below 1 W/m² · PVWatts DC model (Dobos 2014) = pvwatts: the PVWatts version 5 DC model: the nameplate power scaled by the irradiance and corrected by the Pmax temperature coefficient; power only, no current-voltage curve
