API field
Pmax temperature coefficient
Change of the maximum power per degree
Unit %/°C
What it is
How much the maximum power changes per degree of cell temperature. The field is in percent per degree; the API takes a fraction per degree (−0.0034 for −0.34 %/°C). The API refuses a value below −0.02 or above 0.01 per °C. When the ideality factor temperature coefficient is 0 or empty, the model fits it so that the power between 25 °C and 45 °C follows this coefficient.
Typical values and how to get it
The datasheet value: −0.24 to −0.45 %/°C for crystalline silicon, heterojunction at the low end; about −0.28 to −0.32 %/°C for cadmium telluride. If not given: −0.40 %/°C, also when a PAN file has no muPmpReq.
