API field
Open-circuit voltage
Voltage at zero current, standard conditions
Unit V
What it is
The voltage across the module with no current flowing, at standard test conditions, in volts. The circuit model is fitted through the short-circuit current and the open-circuit voltage at standard conditions and a third point set by the One-diode STC point step: the datasheet maximum-power point, or a maximum equal to the nameplate. The cold-weather string voltage the inverter must withstand is computed from it.
Typical values and how to get it
The module datasheet value. A PAN file carries it too. If not given: the module runs on the PVWatts DC model, which does not read it. The one-diode models need it: a request that names one of them without it is refused.
