Ambient nameplate schedule

How a power factor applies to the inverter's temperature schedule

What it is

Selects how the inverter's ambient nameplate schedule is read when the nameplate is apparent power and the power factor is below 1. As apparent power, the schedule's value at the ambient temperature times the power factor caps the active output. As active power, the schedule caps the active output as it stands.

Typical values and how to get it

Chosen on the Model tab. The PVsyst 8 and pvperf paths read apparent power. The PVWatts and SAM paths read active power. It has no effect at a power factor of 1, with an active nameplate or without a schedule.

Values

Apparent power, like the nameplate = apparent (default): the schedule's value times the power factor caps the active output · Active power = active: the schedule caps the active output as it stands, and so does the nameplate times the power factor
