Placement string

What it is

An identifier of the string the device belongs to, for module-level placements such as the modules of a roof array. With the String partitions electrical shading (Model tab), the placements that name one string are one string: when a shadow touches any of them, the whole string loses its direct light. Their loss is the largest of their own. With the Sub-module I-V curves electrical shading, the string's current-voltage curve adds the modules of all its placements. The placement's type must carry one string and must not be an east-west ridge. If not given: the device is divided by its type's strings and string layout.

Typical values and how to get it

The string label of the single-line diagram, on every module or device of that string. Devices of different orientations may share a string.
