Placement tilt

Tilt of the device toward its azimuth

Unit °

What it is

The tilt of the device toward its azimuth, a right-hand rotation about the horizontal axis to its left: the normal leans toward the azimuth, so a south-facing device at +10 leans south and an azimuth-0 device at +10 leans north. For a fixed rack it is the plane tilt, 0° to 90°; on a roof, the roof pitch. For a tracker it is the axis tilt with the azimuth end lower, −45° to 45°. For an east-west ridge it is the tilt of each face, 0° to 90°. Default 0.

Typical values and how to get it

The rack tilt, the roof pitch, or the tracker axis incline from the survey.
