Device string layout
How the strings divide one device: across the width or along the length
What it is
How the strings of one device divide its rectangle for the String partitions electrical shading (Model tab). Stacked across the width, each string runs the length of the device and the shadow of the row ahead reaches the low string first. Side by side along the length, each string spans the whole width. If not given: along for a tracker type (sat), across for a fixed rack (gft) and for each face of an east-west ridge (ewf).
Typical values and how to get it
Across for a fixed rack with a low and a high string. Along for a tracker with one to four strings along its axis. A grid of both is not a layout: describe the division the row's shadow crosses.
