Latitude

What it is

The latitude of the site in decimal degrees. Positive values are north of the equator and negative values south of it. With the longitude and the time zone it fixes where the sun is at every hour of the year.

Typical values and how to get it

Pick the location on the map, or read it from the weather file header. Three decimal places, about 100 m, are enough; the sun position changes by less than 0.001° over that distance.
