Step

What it is

The length of each interval in hours when the series is given with a start time. It must divide a day, such as 1 h, 0.5 h, 0.25 h or 1/6 h; longer steps that divide a day, such as 2 h or 3 h, are accepted too.

Typical values and how to get it

1 h for hourly data. If not given: taken from the timestamps when they are given. A series needs either timestamps, or a start and a step.
