Model step
HV transformer
Substation transformer to the high-voltage grid
Inputs used: HV transformer: no-load (iron) loss, HV transformer: load (copper) loss at STC, Night disconnect, Model the HV transformer
What it is
A large system can connect to the high-voltage grid through a substation transformer that raises the medium voltage of the collection system to the transmission voltage. Like the transformer at each inverter, it has an iron loss drawn while it is connected and a copper loss that grows with the square of the current. A system that connects at medium voltage has none, and its values on the Losses tab are 0.
Options
- Iron and copper losses: iron and copper losses on the sum of the inverters
- Do not model: no HV transformer losses, with the entered fractions kept on the Losses tab
