Reference / One-diode saturation-current floor

Model option

Held at 2.07 × 10⁻¹⁴ A or more

The saturation current held at 2.07 × 10⁻¹⁴ A or more

Inputs used: Open-circuit voltage, Short-circuit current

Method

The saturation current of the temperature law is replaced by 2.07 × 10⁻¹⁴ A wherever the law gives less (1). In the solve at standard conditions, an ideality factor whose saturation current falls below that value is not taken.

The math

I0=max⁡(2.07×10−14 A, I0,law)(1)I_0 = \max\left(2.07\times 10^{-14}\ \text{A},\ I_{0,law}\right) \tag{1}

where

Symbol Meaning Unit
I0I_0 the diode saturation current A
I0,lawI_{0,law} the saturation current the temperature law gives A
