Model step
One-diode STC point
The third point the one-diode curve passes through at STC
Inputs used: MPP voltage, MPP current, Nameplate power
What it is
The one-diode circuit has three unknowns at standard test conditions: the photocurrent, the saturation current and the ideality factor. The short-circuit current and the open-circuit voltage give two equations. This step sets the third and the power the array nominal energy is counted from. It is live with the Mermoud one-diode model.
Options
- Through the datasheet MPP: the curve passes through the datasheet maximum-power point, and the array nominal energy counts the curve's maximum
- Maximum at the nominal power: the curve's maximum power at standard test conditions equals the nameplate
