Model step
Electrical shading effect
Electrical effect of shading on strings
Inputs used: Strings on one rack, String layout, Cell height along the slope, Fraction for electrical effect, Device strings, Device string layout, Placement string, Twin half-cell layout, Cells in series, Cell strings in parallel, Width, Length (height), MPPT window minimum
What it is
When a shadow reaches a module, the modules wired in series with it lose current too. This step decides whether the model accounts for that electrical effect beyond the light the shadow removes, and how much of the row's power it costs.
Options
- According to strings: the strips a shadow touches lose their direct light
- String partitions, PVsyst application: a string of a scene table that a shadow touches loses its direct light
- Sub-module I-V curves, PVsyst application: each string's current-voltage curve from the shade on its sub-modules, at the inverter's MPPT minimum
- Linear: only the light the shadow removes is lost
